It operates through two segments, Automotive and Financial services. Automotive segment provides passenger cars in two brands, such as Volkswagen brand and Audi brand. Its Volkswagen brand group comprises Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Skoda, Bentley, and Bugatti brands that offer products ranging from the small subcompact cars to luxury saloons. The Audi brand group comprises the Audi, SEAT, and Lamborghini brands that offer a product range from the compact class, through the luxury saloon, to the sports supercar. Its commercial vehicles extend from leisure and utility vehicles to heavy trucks. Financial services segment offers financing, leasing, rental, and insurance, as well as professional fleet management services for private and business customers. The company was founded in 1937 as Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH and changed its name to Volkswagenwerk GmbH in 1938. Further, it changed its name to Volkswagenwerk Aktiengesellschaft in 1960; and to Volkswagen AG in 1985. The company is based in Wolfsburg, Germany.
